Summary
One in this long-running daytime serial about the residents of the midwestern town of Springfield. In this episode, the potential for Christmas miracles is in the air as the holiday approaches. Young Zach receives a present -- a butterfly -- which his father had arranged for delivery before his death. The insect's escape from its case sets "the butterfly effect" in motion: a series of events where the fate of one character directly affects a stranger, and then another. Here, the chain results in a reunion between estranged sisters Reva and Cassie; Bill finding the victimized Olivia in Ravenwood Asylum; Harley having a romantic rendezvous with old flame Gus; and a one-of-a-kind moment between Lizzie, Coop and Lizzie's antler-clad dog, Roxie. Commercials deleted.
(The title of this series was "The Guiding Light" on radio from 1937 to 1956 and on television from 1952 to 1977; in 1977 the title was changed to "Guiding Light.")
