Summary
This is a live red carpet show, hosted by Billy Bush, Vanessa Minnillo, Cynthia Garrett, and Chris Connelly, taking place before the 2006 Acadamy Awards outside the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Connelly first examines "Pride and Prejudice." Then, Bush speaks with the film's star and best actress nominee Keira Knightley. Next, Connelly looks at "Junebug." Then, Minnillo speaks with the film's best supporting actress nominee Amy Adams. Garrett speaks with Dolly Parton, best song nominee for "Travelin' Thru" from "Transamerica" after which Connelly speaks with presenter Will Ferrell and his wife, Vivica Paulin. Next, Garrett introduces Robert Osborne, "the Academy's new greeter to the stars." Then, Minnillo speaks with presenter Jessica Alba, Connelly speaks with presenter Meryl Streep, and Bush speaks with "King Kong" star and presenter Naomi Watts. Then, Garrett looks at the five best actress nominees before the critics offer predictions. Next, Minnillo presents a clip montage about the "faces of evil" in cinema history. Next, Garrett speaks with "Hustle & Flow" best actor nominee Terrence Howard. Then, Connelly looks at "Syriana" before Minnillo speaks with the film's nominated best supporting actor George Clooney. He also addresses being nominated for best director and best original script for "Good Night, and Good Luck." Then, Connelly looks at "Hustle & Flow." Then, Bush speaks with best actor nominee for "Good Night, and Good Luck" David Strathairn. Next, Garrett examines the five films nominated for best picture. Maltin, Siegel, and Thompson return to discuss the nominated pictures. Then, Minnillo looks at the site of the Governor's Ball after-party. Next, Garrett speaks with presenter Jamie Foxx. Then, Bush is joined by Sid Ganis, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Then, Connelly looks at "The Constant Gardner" before speaking with its best supporting actress nominee Rachel Weisz. Next, Connelly and Minnillo talk with entertainment reporters Jann Carl and Shaun Robinson, both of whom detail their favorite fashions from the evening. The hosts offer some final thoughts before the cameras switch to Bush inside the theater, where he interviews presenter Eric Bana in the audience. Commercials deleted, but contains off-camera footage and the taping of celebrity interviews during the breaks, many of which are repeated later in the telecast.
