BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: RESURRECTION SHIP {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this science fiction series which re-imagines the 1978 ABC show "Battlestar Galactica" about a lost tribe of humans on a fleet of starships, led by the Battlestar Galactica, during a war with the robotic Cylons. In part two of this two-part episode, Apollo drifts alone in space, dreaming that he is floating in a lake. Forty-eight hours earlier, Starbuck and Apollo discuss their roles as the soon-to-be assassins of Cain. Aboard the Pegasus, two crew members begin to beat up Helo and Tyrol in vengeance for their murder of Thorne. Eventually, Fisk puts a stop to the beating, though aware of his own pending mission to kill Adama. On the Galactica, Cain has a drink with Starbuck and discusses how to handle one's conscience and not to flinch when committing a "terrible" duty. Later, Adama discusses the assassination plot with Apollo, who is surprised to hear that Roslin is involved. Then, Starbuck and Fisk prepare for their separate assassination attempts, as well as the attack on the resurrection ship. Before Adama proceeds with the assassination of Cain, he confronts Boomer, wondering why Cylons such as her hate humanity so much. Boomer wonders if humanity deserves to survive. During the battle, the resurrection ship and two Basestars are destroyed, and Apollo's Blackbird successfully escapes from the Cylon base before it explodes. However, the Blackbird is subsequently hit by a Raptor and greatly damaged, forcing Apollo to eject. Floating in space, Apollo's space suit springs a leak. Meanwhile, Gaius ignores Number Six, finding greater interest in her tangible copy, Gina Inviere, as he tells her a story about how much he misses sports. At the same time, Dualla frantically tries to contact Apollo in space, but he chooses not to respond. Instead, he allows more air to seep out of his suit as he offers a quiet apology to Starbuck before he slips into unconsciousness. When Gina learns that the resurrection ship has been destroyed, she tells Gaius she is ready to die. The Galactica crew later finds and revives Apollo. After Starbuck's return from battle, Cain tells her how proud she is of her performance. Then, with Cain present, Starbuck talks on the phone with Adama, who tells her to abort her assassination mission. Likewise, Cain instructs Fisk not to kill Adama. Meanwhile, Gina steals a marine's gun, instructing Gaius to kill her. However, Gaius thinks that what Gina truly needs is "justice." Later, Gina sneaks into Cain's quarters and shoots her to death. At Cain's funeral, Starbuck speaks well of the admiral, saying the fleet would be safer with her than without her. Later, with Apollo once again conscious, he tells Starbuck that he didn't want to survive the last mission. Meanwhile, Helo speaks with the imprisoned Boomer, who asks where their relationship is headed. Finally, Roslin promotes Adama to admiral of both battlestars. He encourages her not to give up hope in her fight with cancer. Commercials deleted.
