UGLY BETTY: FOUR THANKSGIVINGS AND A FUNERAL (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy-drama series about Betty Suarez, a young Queens woman trying to make it in the fashion industry despite her unglamorous appearance.

In this episode, the employees at Mode prepare for their various Thanksgiving day plans. Daniel is upset that Sofia hasn't called him since revealing that she has a boyfriend, Hunter. Eventually, Sofia shows up at Daniel's office, wondering if they can "move on" and just be friends. On Thanksgiving morning, Daniel makes an "emergency" call to Betty, thus ruining her tradition of cooking the family dinner. The holiday dinner at the Suarez home is set to include Christina, Walter, and a rare appearance by Justin's estranged father Santos. Meanwhile, Amanda and Marc decide to have their own besotted gathering in the Mode offices while Wilhelmina struggles with whether to be a good mother or to spend Thanksgiving enjoying a more fashionable agenda. Also, Betty learns that Leah, the lawyer Hilda hired to represent Ignacio, may not be as good as she seems.

Meanwhile, Daniel has to attend a family/work gathering at the country club, also to be attended by Sofia and Hunter. Wilhelmina eventually decides that she will prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for Nico, though a miscommunication appears to ruin all her hard work. At the party, Daniel is overwhelmed by the handsome, personable, and talented Hunter, and ends up making a fool of himself. At the same party, Bradford believes he sees the dead Fey Sommers and decides to further investigate the situation. Meanwhile, Betty has to teach Daniel how to salsa dance over the phone so that he can impress Sofia, but that plan fails, too.

The episode ends with the Suarez family learning the truth about Leah, the Slaters having a nice Thanksgiving meal after all, and Amanda and Marc discovering Wilhelmina's biggest secret. In addition, Daniel finally understands Sofia's marital plan, and Bradford's investigator finds out what happens if you cross the boss. Includes commercials.
