BROTHERS & SISTERS: SEXUAL POLITICS (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.
In this episode, an "executive matchmaker," Elise, stops Senator McCallister after a speech, encouraging him to get back into the dating game. Kevin meets Chad Barry, a noted actor, at the gym, but is unsure of his sexual orientation, thinking that the allegedly straight thespian is hitting on him. Elsewhere, Tommy is having difficulty keeping up with Julia's amorous advances now that she's past morning sickness. Meanwhile, Kitty struggles in dealing with the rest of the senator's staff, as most of them treat her in an icy manner, thinking she is secretly dating their boss. Thus, Kitty is forced to lie and claim she can't date the senator because she already has a boyfriend. Now, Kitty is forced to use the executive dating service to find herself a match.
Meanwhile, Chad asks Kevin out on a hiking date, though Kevin wonders about Chad's motivations. Soon, Kitty and an intruding Nora are speaking with Elise about her dating life and how she can "seal the deal." However, it is Nora that ends up landing the first pairing amongst mother and daughter. Later, Kitty reveals to Robert that she lied about having a boyfriend in order to get her fellow colleagues off her back. On Kevin's hike with Chad, the actor claims that he isn't gay, while revealing why he likes hanging out with gay men.
Meanwhile, Sarah comes home to find Joe laughing with Vanessa, the mother of Paige's friend. The somewhat jealous Sarah tells Joe that they need to regain the fun in their relationship, prompting them to go to a rock club. Eventually, Kitty and Nora have dates set up on the same night. Kitty's date ends up being with Senator McCallister, surprising and angering her. Nora's date, on the other hand, is with Lawrence Magill, a foppish gay man looking for companionship.
Meanwhile, Kevin goes to the Lakers game with Chad, and, afterward, the two take a cruise up Mulholland Drive. There, Kevin bluntly questions Chad on his intentions, before Chad kisses him. At the same time, as Kitty and the senator leave the restaurant, the press swamps them, questioning and photographing their exit. The next morning, Nora awakens Kitty with the morning newspapers, covering her "scandalous" date. The senator, however, is not upset. Finally, that afternoon at boot camp class, Chad's girlfriend, Michelle, returns from New York, meeting Kevin for the first time. Includes commercials.
