BROTHERS & SISTERS: AFFAIRS OF STATE (TV)

Summary

One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.

In this episode, sparks continue to fly between Warren and Kitty as she tells him that he's too obsessed with his looks. He counters that she's always changing her shade of lipstick after polling numbers come in, causing Jack to agree that Kitty's lipstick is now a lighter color. The session ends as Warren asks Kitty out on a date, but she declines. Kitty also learns that Jack typically hosts the entire show "blotto." Meanwhile, during Saul's company consolidation, Nora learns about the little house Ojai owns in Silver Lake -- but not that Holly currently lives in it.

On the air, Warren makes a bet with Kitty which she loses, meaning she will have to go to dinner with him. Jonathan sees their "date" bet on television and is a bit upset. Nora, on the other hand, is smitten with the handsome Warren, cheered on by his liberal beliefs. Eventually, Nora visits Holly's house, praising her for how nicely she has decorated it, and deciding she'd rather keep it than sell it. Soon, Justin tells Kitty about Holly's past, and that Nora doesn't want to sell the house in which William's former mistress resides. Meanwhile, Sarah struggles as the Ojai president, still unaware of the inner workings of the company, firing some people she shouldn't.

That night, a miserable Kitty goes on her lost-bet date with Warren, revealing that she is so unhappy because she just learned of her father's infidelities. Eventually, the two are back at Warren's apartment making out. The next day, Kitty is disgusted for having let herself be "nailed" by the "man whore" Warren. Soon, Kitty fills in Sarah -- who then fills in Kevin -- on their father's longtime affair. Sarah also invites Kevin's gay witness Scotty to that night's family pool party. At the pool party, Jonathan makes a surprise appearance, stunning Kitty so much that she falls into the pool. Also, Kitty surprises both Saul and her children by inviting Holly as a guest.

Later, Warren shows up at the party, further surprising Kitty, especially when he reveals how blown away he is by her. During the party, the siblings meet, discussing when -- or if -- they should tell Nora about William and Holly. However, by dinner time, Nora surprises everyone by revealing that she has known all along. After leaving the party in shame, Holly tells Saul that she won't be "invisible" anymore, intending to come into her own. During a heart-to-heart with Kitty, Nora admits that she has been aware of Holly for fifteen years. She also advises Kitty to tell Jonathan about Warren. When Kitty takes Nora's counsel, Jonathan breaks up with her for good. Later, Nora instructs Saul to sell the bungalow to Holly, while extracting a promise that there's nothing else she should know about William's past. Includes commercials.
