STUDIO ONE: THE DEFENDER {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this live dramatic anthology series. This play, shown in two parts, is the study of a father and son assigned to defend a man accused of murder who the father believes is guilty and the son believes is innocent. Tension develops between the two over the tactics to be used during the trial: the son believes everything should be done to acquit the defendant. The son prevails, a rather unscrupulous technique is used, and the man is acquitted. His guilt or innocence is never finally determined. This program inspired the series "The Defenders."
