Summary
A special telecast made in cooperation with the Anti-Defamation League of the B'nai B'rith, on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary. Telecast live from Washington, and hosted by Robert Preston, the program is a history in popular song and dance of America's progress, paying tribute to the struggle which "is a precious part of our democratic legacy." Includes performances by Will Holt, Judy Collins, Lynn Gold, the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, Josh White, and Odetta. Includes brief comments by the president of B'nai B'rith and the national chairman of B'nai B'rith. President John F. Kennedy is presented with the "America's Democratic Legacy" award and speaks briefly.
