Summary

One in this series of entertainment specials presented under the umbrella of "ABC Stage 67." David Frost's "Tour of London," which takes in the sights and entertainment events of the city from one afternoon to 4 a.m. the following morning, includes the following segments: host David Frost and Carol Lynley take a brief drive around London; Frost moves onstage at a theater for a charity event (a "theaterthon" rather than a "telethon") and offers a comic monologue of topical satire; from the Abbey Road recording studios, Peter Sellers -- in a spoof of interview programs -- stars as a BBC announcer interviewing an insurance adjustor (played by Kenneth Connor) whom he mistakes for a deep-sea driver; from the Blue Angel, Denys Palmer demonstrates his humorous three-legged dance; Frost continues his comic monologue with jokes about London; from Danny La Rue's nightclub, Ronny Corbett introduces female impersonator Danny La Rue (in drag) and the two sing "Real Live Girl" from the musical "Little Me" and, after LaRue's costume change out of drag, they sing "You Are the Greatest One of All"; from the Abbey Road studio, Sellers appears in a skit as a snobbish wine expert, attempting to identify a beverage; next, Frost parodies awful London sightseeing tours; then Lulu, the "Queen of Discos," lip-syncs to "Oh, What a Wonderful Feeling" on a London street as footage of London at night is shown; at a matinee from the Old Vic, Laurence Olivier performs an excerpt from John Osborne's "The Entertainer" and sings and taps to "Why Should I Care?"; Frost returns with a routine joshing the Royal Family; Libby Morris, "London's First Lady of Cabaret," sings "One of Those Songs" at Quaglinos in the West End; from the Royal Court Theatre's benefit in memory of George Devine, Albert Finney recreates his performance as Martin Luther in the All-Saints eve sermon scene from John Osborne's "Luther"; and at the end of this night out in London, Frost, standing on Westminster Bridge, quotes Wordsworth's poem composed there and wishes the audience a "Good Morning."
