Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. In this adaptation of William Faulkner's novel, a chain-gang inmate, stranded on the flooding Mississippi trying to save a pregnant woman, finds himself with an opportunity to escape. He rescues a mother-to-be, the woman gives birth, and the three go downriver on a boat. They arrive at a Cajun fisherman's house. The convict and the woman with a newborn baby are forced to the leave the Cajun's house where the convict has enjoyed freedom. The convict, turning himself in at the prison where the warden believed him drowned, is "rewarded" with an additional ten years added to his prison sentence. Includes commercials.
