KOVACS ON MUSIC (TV)

Summary

A comedy special in which host Ernie Kovacs takes a satirical look at music. Opens with a musicological discussion with double-talk artist Al Kelly and continues with a look at the invention of the musical scale with James Darren, Edie Adams, and Kovacs. A spoof of Romeo and Juliet illustrates the use of musical sound effects. Edie Adams sings "Bachianas Brasileiras No.5" by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Other highlights include: a ballet danced by gorillas in tu-tus; Louis Jourdan, Adams, and Kovacs in a skit about recording a radio commercial; and a skit about an Italian television station's first broadcast day.
