BAD BOYS {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
Part one of a videotaped documentary special in which the producers visit a high school, a detention center, and a prison for boys in order to examine juvenile crime. At the Bryant High School in New York City, they find that of 5,000 students, one in five is a chronic truant. None of the students interviewed likes school or respects teachers. The program continues with a look at the Spofford Juvenile Detention Center in New York City, where 7,000 10 to 16-year-olds await trial or detention. In the year before this broadcast, 130 juveniles escaped from Spofford. Girls at the center say they enjoy themselves at the institution; the boys like it less and misbehave more frequently. Continues with T79:0280.
