Summary
This drama tells the story of the "Titanic" disaster, based on factual and personal accounts. In this portion, the drama looks back as the luxury liner the Titanic sets out from England. The major characters are introduced: the Astors; Molly Brown; the second class passengers; and Laurence Beesley and Leigh Goodwin, two schoolteachers. A romance develops between Beesley and Goodwin, Astor worries about his divorce and new wife, and the "Titanic" hits an iceberg. (Presented under the umbrella of "The ABC Sunday Night Movie.") Includes commercials.
