Summary
Part one of this seven-part docudrama series based on the life of Edward, Prince of Wales, and his abdication of the throne of England as Edward VIII in 1936. Highlights of this portion -- which focuses on Edward's attraction to married women -- include the following: Edward goes on an African safari with Thelma Furness; Edward returns to England after learning that his father, King George V, is sick; and Wallis Simpson, a twice-married American, wins Edward's affections.
