Summary
One in this series of dramatic arts programs. Host Hal Holbrook introduces the play. A presentation of "The School for Scandal," Sheridan's satire of London society in the late eighteenth century. In this portion, Sir Oliver returns to London after sixteen years in India. Sir Olivier, incognito, visits his nephew Charles to verify rumors of Charles's profligate ways. He then visits his nephew Joseph, and learns of his hypocritical ways. Ultimately, the good-natured Charles is forgiven.
