Summary
Seventh episode of this fourth series of dramas about the Bellamys of London's Eaton Place and their servants. This fourth series is set in 1919-1930. In this episode, set in spring 1924, Hudson's hopes of marrying young Lily, the maid, are crushed when Lily, who has felt only friendship, rejects him, packs her bag, and leaves a note for him. (Presented under the umbrella of "Masterpiece Theatre," with prologue and epilogue by Alistair Cooke.)
