Summary

One in this series of animated children's specials featuring the characters from the comic strip "Peanuts." In this Memorial Day tribute, the "Peanuts" gang tours France on a student exchange program. In Normandy, Linus guides the group through a re-enactment of the Allied landing at Omaha Beach during the D-day invasion. Linus recounts Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower's speech (the general's voice is actually heard) about the preservation of freedom, the sacrifices of war, and the hope that humanity has learned from the tragedy. Commercials deleted. (This program won the 1983 Peabody Award.)
