Summary
The premiere episode in this series in which actors play notorious criminals testifying before a committee made up of real-life attorneys. In this episode, the committee sets out to prove that Charles "Lucky" Luciano is the leader of an international criminal conspiracy. Topics discussed during the hearing include the following: Luciano's decision not to seek American citizenship; the source of Luciano's income; why a number of underworld figures, including Al Capone, visited Luciano soon after a rash of murders had been committed across the country; how Luciano assisted the armed forces during the war; and Luciano's involvement with a notorious opium manufacturer in Milan. Also included are interrogations of Joseph Tosca, a close friend of Luciano's, and Dolly Dayton, a witness in a previous case against Luciano. Includes commercials.
