ROCKY SHOW, THE: THE GREENPERNT OOGLE, PT. 6 OF 12
(TV)

Summary

One in this animated series about two friends -- an intelligent flying squirrel named Rocky and a gormless moose named Bullwinkle. This program features part six of a twelve-part story about Bullwinkle's bunion, which helps him predict the weather. In part six, Bullwinkle discovers that he has been brought to the island of New Greenpernt, which is ruled by King Bushwick of 33rd Avenue. Bullwinkle has been brought there to replace the fortune-telling oogle bird, who for decades had been predicting the future for the residents of the island. Other highlights include the following: in "Bullwinkle's Corner," the famous moose begins to recite "Rockybye Baby," but a network executive feels the poem is too violent, censors it, and then demonstrates what he means by violence on Bullwinkle; and in "Peabody's Improbable History," Mr. Peabody and Sherman travel in the Wayback machine to witness Stephen Decatur setting fire to the U.S.S. Philadelphia, but discovers that the captain is out of matches and therefore, cannot accomplish his task. Commercials deleted.

(Series title varies; this series was also telecast under the title,"Rocky and His Friends" from 1959 to 1961, and under the title "The Bullwinkle Show" on NBC from 1961 to 1964, and on ABC from 1964 to 1973.)
