WHAT'S ON TAP? A DRUNK-DRIVING DILEMMA {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
The first portion of the "Special Projects Presentation" of Action 11 News, from CBS affiliate WHAS-TV in Louisville, KY. This program examines the federally funded Traffic Alcohol Program (TAP), which provides funds for more police patrols in areas with a high incidence of drunk driving. WHAS correspondents moderate a discussion between TAP supporters Col. Richard Dotson (Louisville police chief) and Dr. Richard Greathouse (Jefferson Co. coroner) and TAP opponents "Skee" Bauer, restaurant owner and member of Citizens for a TAP Alternative, and Tim Martin, bar owner and member of the Alcohol Beverage Service Assn. On-the-scene reports include an interview with Capt. Larry Duncan in the Jefferson Co. Jail booking area and reports from Al Henderson's night club and the downtown entertainment business. Alternatives to TAP are examined. Commercials deleted. Continues with T87:0315. (Acquired courtesy of NATPE.)
