One in this weekly arts series. This program profiles British actor and comedian John Cleese, best known for his work with the Monty Python troupe and the hit television series "Fawlty Towers." Cleese discusses the following topics: his childhood; his college days at Cambridge Univ.; his work as a writer for the BBC; his interest in politics and psychotherapy; and his book, "Families and How to Survive Them." He also talks about his work as the creator, writer, and star of "Fawlty Towers," and his various theories of comedy. Alternating with interview segments are excerpts from Cleese's TV work: "At Last the 1948 Show"; "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1969, 1970, and 1972); and several episodes of "Fawlty Towers." Also shown are excerpts from his movies, "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life," "Monty Python's The Life of Brian," and "The Secret Policeman's Ball," and his video arts training film, "Awkward Customers."
