Summary
Fourth in an eight-part series featuring violin virtuoso Jascha Heifetz leading a 1962 master class at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In this part, violinist Carol Sindell performs the first movement of Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerto in A Minor. In an unusual switch, Heifetz provides the piano accompaniment. Also seen is Robert Witte performing the third movement of Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin and Etudes Nos. 24 and 30 by Rodolphe Kreutzer. Brooks Smith accompanies on piano. Heifetz provides pointers on technique and interpretation, and demonstrates how the pieces should be played.
