The 16th in this 25-part series that features cellist Pablo Casals (1876-1973) teaching master classes at the University of California at Berkeley. In this program, student Richard Anastasio performs the second movement of Haydn's Cello Concerto in D Major, op. 101, and student Marianne Marshall performs the Allegro Moderato from Boccherini's Cello Sonata in A Major. Both students are accompanied by pianist Roy Bogas. Throughout, Casals offers advice on technique and interpretation, often demonstrating his suggestions and performing along with the students.
