JACK BENNY PROGRAM, THE: JACK PLAYS TARZAN (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series starring Jack Benny. In this episode, Benny dispenses with his usual monologue and immediately welcomes his guest star Carol Burnett, who sings "The Trolley Song" and is introduced to Don Wilson and his "son," Harlow. As a running gag throughout the show, Burnett performs the bump and grind to "The Stripper," at the time a popular song by David Rose and His Orchestra. In the main sketch, Benny and Burnett play Jane and Tarzan after twenty years of marriage. Burnett performs her trademark yell to startle her meek husband. Benny retaliates by playing his primitive violin, which scatters all the animals in the jungle. Commercials deleted.
