An Evening with UnREAL

UnREAL, Lifetime’s thought-provoking new drama and the first scripted series from A+E Studios, brings viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos and machinations surrounding the production of a reality dating-competition program. The series, from cocreators Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, who worked as a producer on The Bachelor, and Marti Noxon (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), has been a hit with critics and summer TV audiences alike, and it has been renewed for a second season. In its review Slate called it “irresistible,” and noted it’s the first antihero show that is created by women, stars women, and at times brutally satirizes women. It’s a heady concoction that demands attention, and deservedly so. The Paley Center welcomes members of the cast and creative team for a panel conversation and a preview screening of its sizzling season-one finale.
