Since taking over The Late Late Show in March of 2015, James Corden, whom the Wall Street Journal described as “one of the merriest revelations on American TV,” has redefined the nighttime talk show scene with a series that reflects his boisterous enthusiasm for the world of entertainment, music especially. “If our show was going to be anything, we wanted it to just be joy,” he is quoted as saying. In addition to bringing back the lost tradition of guests actually sharing the spotlight together, Corden has also created a wonderfully daft collection of recurring comical segments, one of which quickly became nothing less than a pop cultural phenomenon, the Carpool Karaoke.
