Plural + Youth Video Festival Award Ceremony

Nov 12, 2010
6:00 PM ET
New York

Every day the news is filled with images of violence and anger spurred by hot-button issues like migration and diversity. Youth around the globe have taken notice and are speaking out about prejudice, discrimination, and intolerance. Developed by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the PLURAL + Youth Video Festival is truly a unique platform that celebrates international youth media. More than forty countries submitted films on topics ranging from the plight of youth refugees in Austria to the story of Roma girls in Slovenia to migrants' rights in Ecuador or a child's vision for a more inclusive India. The three International Jury Award Winners hail from different corners of the world and will be flown to New York City to attend the awards ceremony. They were chosen by an international jury which includes award-winning filmmakers Idrissa Ouedraogo (Burkina Faso), Naveen Qayyum (Pakistan), Fernand Melgar (Switzerland), and US-Ethiopian author Maaza Mengiste.

Please join us at the award ceremony on November 12, 2010, at The Paley Center for Media.

Tickets for the awards ceremony are FREE, but reservations are mandatory.
