MTR Announces 5th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic

Monday, June 11, 2007 at Sherwood Country Club, Thousand Oaks, CA

Los Angeles, CA—The Museum of Television & Radio (MTR) announces its fifth annual Celebrity Golf Classic at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California, on Monday, June 11, 2007. The annual event brings together entertainment industry executives, creative talent, and television personalities to play at one of Southern California's top-rated golf courses to benefit the Museum's education programs and activities, which serve students, educators, and families each year by collaborating with schools, social-service organizations, and community groups.

"The Museum's celebrity golf tournament is now in its fifth year, and we are deeply indebted to our sponsors and in particular to the members of our Los Angeles Board of Governors who comprise our golf committee," said Barbara Dixon, vice president and director of The Museum of Television & Radio, Los Angeles. "Our secret weapon has been the enormous dedication of the chair of our golf committee, Steve Mosko.  We simply could not do it without him."

"Not only do the proceeds from this event support programs that serve the community," said Steve Mosko, president of Sony Pictures Television and chair of the Museum's Celebrity Golf Classic committee, "but the tournament is an opportunity for industry professionals to get together and have a great time-all at a world-class golf course."

Each enrolled foursome will be partnered with a celebrity player. Celebrities scheduled to play* are Peter Gallagher (The O.C.), Joe Mantegna (Joan of Arcadia), Ed Marinaro (Sisters), Kevin Nealon (Saturday Night Live), Andy Richter (Andy Barker P.I.), Richard Schiff (The West Wing), Dougrey Scott (Desperate Housewives), and Scott Wolf (Party of Five), among others (*participants are subject to change). The tournament format is "Modified Best Ball" of fivesomes with full handicap.

The Museum of Television & Radio in New York, located at 25 West 52 Street in Manhattan, is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. and until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The Museum of Television & Radio in California, located at 465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, is open Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m.  Both Museums are closed on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Suggested contribution: Members free; $10.00 for adults; $8.00 for senior citizens and students; and $5.00 for children under fourteen. Admission is free in Los Angeles. The public areas in both Museums are accessible to wheelchairs, and assisted listening devices are available.
