Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country

The Paley Center for Media and Human Rights Watch present this free screening and panel featuring Burma VJ, a 2009 Academy Award finalist for Best Feature Length Documentary. Armed with small video cameras, a tenacious band of Burmese reporters risk torture and life imprisonment to maintain the flow of news from the streets of Rangoon. Amidst marching monks, brutal police agents, and shooting military, they diligently work to keep the world informed of events inside a closed country. (Anders Østergaard, 2008, 84 min.)
