Summary

This musical special taped in the General Assembly of the United Nations features performers who have donated royalty rights profits of certain songs to UNICEF. Highlights include: Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge singing; host Henry Winkler announcing 1979 as the International Year of the Child and singing; Olivia Newton-John singing; host Danny Kaye; Earth, Wind, and Fire performing; host Gilda Radner; Rod Stewart singing "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy"; Donna Summer singing "Song For Mimi"; Andy Gibb and Olivia Newton-John with a duet; the group Abba performing; Henry Fonda describing some of UNICEF's activities and reading an excerpt from "The Diary of Anne Frank"; John Denver singing; the Bee Gees singing "Too Much Heaven"; Robert Stigwood with a presentation to Kurt Waldheim; and all the hosts and guests singing "Put a Little Love in Your Heart." Commercials deleted.
