NURSE JACKIE: MONKEY BITS (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about a drug-addicted nurse in New York City who's beset by personal and professional problems.
In this episode, Fiona is questioned about the cast on her arm by her teacher, who thinks she might have been abused. Kevin alerts Jackie, who calls in Eleanor to demonstrate to the class that Fiona doesn't actually have a broken arm. Afterward, Eleanor suggests they go to Kevin’s bar that evening for "monkey bits" -- buffalo wings -- to get her mind off Sarah. Jackie attempts to comfort Eleanor, to no avail. Meanwhile, Kevin takes Grace to see a psychologist, after which Grace refuses to speak to Jackie on the phone.
At All Saints, a young, frightened woman named Lily is wheeled in with a bullet lodged in her brain. Jackie promises to be there when she wakes up from surgery, but fails to follow through. Later, Jackie apologizes as Lily gives her the extracted bullet and admonishes her for not keeping her word.
Jackie also deals with John Decker, who plants himself in the hallway, obstructing the hospital staff, refusing to leave the side of his husband Marcus -- who is unconscious and dying from respiratory failure. When it becomes clear that Marcus is hanging on via life support, John wrestles with the decision to pull the plug and Jackie offers assistance.
Fitch sets up Eddie and his friend Georgia on a date, prompting Eddie to text an indifferent Jackie. That night, Eleanor and Jackie see Eddie and Georgia at Kevin’s bar, motivating Eleanor's quick departure. As Jackie follows suit, she leaves Eddie with a stern warning.
