VAMPIRE DIARIES, THE: A FEW GOOD MEN (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about a comely high school student and her love/hate relationship with a pair of handsome, bloodsucking brothers. In this episode, Harper -- having just escaped from the vampires' tomb -- kills a hiker in the woods and steals his clothes. Back in town, Jenna helps Elena track down her birth mother: Alaric's wife, Isobel. Upon hearing the news, Stefan confronts Damon, having long suspected that Damon turned Isobel into a vampire. However, Damon is still consumed with grief over Katherine's betrayal.
Elsewhere, Jenna and Alaric prepare for his role in a bachelor auction for charity, though he hastily heads home when learning from Jenna about Isobel having given birth before he knew her. Nearby, Elena goes to see Trudie Peterson, an old friend of Isobel's. Though she appears to be interested in Elena, Trudie secretly sends a text: "She's here." When Elena asks too many questions, Trudie demands that she leave. Isobel's henchman subsequently quizzes Trudie before killing her. At the same time, Matt's estranged mom, Kelly, shows up at their family home, interrupting Matt's lovemaking with Caroline. Kelly makes her dislike for Caroline known immediately.
That night, Liz asks Damon to join the bachelor auction; he agrees if she gets him info on Alaric. When Elena meets Stefan before the fundraiser, he tells her how Isobel was killed, but asks that any questions to Alaric be postponed. At the fundraiser, Damon humiliates Alaric on stage, hinting that he killed Isobel. Afterward, Elena tells a shocked Damon that he murdered her mother. Running outside the hall, Elena spies Isobel's henchman, who tells her that Isobel doesn't want to be found. He then kills himself, though Elena recovers his phone,
Alaric attacks Damon at the Salvatore home. Damon then admits that he turned Isobel when she begged him to do it. When Alaric tries to stake Damon, the deadly weapon ends up in Alaric's stomach. A horrified Stefan watches as Alaric's body returns to life, due to the charmed ring that Isobel insisted he wear. Finally, as Elena has an aborted conversation with Isobel on the henchman's phone, Harper finds new lodgings with Pearl and Anna. Commercials deleted.
