30 ROCK: COOTER {SECOND SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The second season finale in this comedy series about the cast and production team of a sketch comedy television show. In this episode, Jack assures Liz that he is staying in D.C. for good, sure that he has no future at G.E. with Don Geiss in a coma, and Liz is stunned to realize that she may be pregnant. Kenneth prepares to apply for a special NBC page position at the Beijing Olympics, but finds that he has only hours to complete his personal statement, thanks to Donny's nefarious meddling. Jack meets his eager new co-worker, "Cooter Burger," and finds that his new office is quite literally falling apart and needs his strong guidance. Liz takes several pregnancy tests and calls Jack in a panic when they come up positive, while elsewhere Jenna attempts to record voiceovers for Tracy's new pornographic video game. Donny taunts Kenneth as he hurriedly tries to finish his application, and Jenna gives him some advice about promoting himself with "backdoor brags." Jack inspires his fellow politicians with his plans for improvement, but then learns that Geiss is asking for him and immediately attempts to resign, though Cooter informs him that he cannot ever leave.
Jenna guesses that Liz is pregnant and is horrified when Liz admits that Dennis, not Floyd, is likely the father. Cooter soon realizes that his new "best friend" is right and their department is beyond saving, and he and Jack scheme to get fired together. Dennis shows up at Liz's apartment and demands to be involved in their unborn child's life, and Jenna presents Kenneth with a completed video statement for his application, which naturally focuses on Jenna herself. Jack and Cooter decide to support a ridiculous "gay bomb" bill with C.C.'s reluctant assistance, and Kenneth finds that Donny has waylaid him with a pointless errand and that he has mere seconds to deliver his application, prompting him to dramatically sprint up to the 27th floor just in time. Jack finally hears Liz's many voicemails, the last of which reveals that she is not pregnant after all, and he hurries to her side. She explains that she is now sure that she wants to adopt a child, and he offers to assist with the process. Three months later, Jack and Cooter accidentally "deploy" the "gay bomb" in an enclosed D.C. office, and Tracy is delighted to find that his video game is highly addictive, as proven by Frank. Kenneth, having landed the Olympics job after all, spends time with an attractive Chinese woman, though he finds himself in trouble as usual when a man bursts in with a gun. Commercials deleted.
