BROTHERS & SISTERS: MEXICO {SEASON THREE FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.
In this episode, Nora travels to Montevista, Mexico to see Tommy, then finds that he's part of a charity organization with strict visiting rules. Upon learning that he's "away" for the day and can't be reached, Nora panics and assumes that the group is a cult. After telephoning the family, plans are made for Sarah, Kevin, Kitty, Justin, and Rebecca to join her in an attempt to "extract" Tommy. Before leaving, Kevin arbitrates between Robert and Kitty as the two consider separating. Elsewhere, Justin and Rebecca tell Holly and David about Justin's acceptance to medical school and that they're going to be married. When Holly voices reservations, Rebecca angrily walks out. Back at Ojai, Holly and Sarah discuss firing Ryan, as Holly feels that Ryan is still blaming William for his mother's suicide and has a grudge against the company. Saul agrees to Sarah's request to deliver a generous severance package to Ryan. Later, Saul is surprised when Ryan questions whether he should sign Ojai's termination papers.
After meeting up in Montevista, Nora tells Kitty, Sarah, Rebecca, Justin, and Kevin that she was mistaken about Tommy being in a cult. She now knows that he's doing productive tasks for the Mexican community with his fellow group members. Shortly thereafter, the family spots Tommy and Nora apologizes to him for having slapped him. Tommy tells them that he had a breakdown in California, and must "own up" to all the wrongs he committed. He wants to stay in Mexico and work things out for himself. Robert then flies in by helicopter -- at Kevin's suggestion -- to patch things up with Kitty. Kitty tells the family about their pending separation. Across town, Rebecca reacts badly when Justin says that he doesn't want to get married on the spot in a local chapel.
Back at Ojai, Saul gives Ryan's unsigned package back to Holly. Saul proposes that he return to Ojai to help monitor Ryan's future actions. A guilt-ridden Saul then admits to Holly how he brought a payoff check from William to Ryan's mother years ago, and how she subsequently killed herself. Holly tells Saul that he'll "owe" her if she goes along with his proposition. Later, David listens as Holly reveals Rebecca's history of acting impulsively over the decades, and how such actions have had bad consequences.
As the group prepares to leave Tommy in Mexico, Sarah encourages Kitty to make up with Robert. However, Kitty misses Robert's helicopter and watches it fly away. Tommy tells Kevin that he hopes to be a good father for Elizabeth, then breaks down when saying goodbye to Nora. Sarah leaves a portrait of the Walker clan for Tommy on the town fountain before they take off. Tommy retrieves it just as the bus pulls out. Includes commercials.
