30 ROCK: EMANUELLE GOES TO DINOSAUR LAND (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the cast and production team of a sketch comedy television show. In this episode, Avery informs Jack that she cannot attend Cerie's star-studded wedding with him and advises him to use the weekend to "do some thinking," unaware that Nancy intends to accompany him as his date. Liz, overwhelmed at the idea of attending three weddings in one day, resolves to find a date for Floyd's nuptials by revisiting some of her exes, though the handsome Drew proves to be just as intolerably dim-witted as ever. Tracy announces that he intends to star as Garfield in a new movie, though Kenneth and Dotcom suggest that he should consider something more dramatic, like a gritty tale mirroring his own upbringing, to increase his chances of winning an Oscar. Jack seeks Liz's expert advice on keeping his weekend with Nancy strictly "asexual," and when Tracy complains that he cannot relate to the serious script, his friends suggest that he is repressing some of the darker elements of his childhood. Liz next visits Dennis Duffy and finds him trying to "Balloon Boy" a kid for attention, and Jack's attempts to resist Nancy soon fail.
Liz is further annoyed to find that the irritating Wesley is attending Cerie's wedding as well, though she quickly realizes that he is her only option for a date for Floyd's. Jack finds that his night with Nancy was a surprisingly big deal to her, as she is riddled with "Catholic guilt," and Dotcom and Kenneth take Tracy to his old home – now a copy store – to jog his memory about his past. It works too well, however, and he is re-traumatized by all of the bizarre events that he has attempted to forget. Jack confesses to Liz that he slept with Nancy but gets an idea when she mentions Floyd's wedding, and at the church, Wesley tells her that they are each other's best options, as he is having "residency issues" and does not want to return to England. Tracy begins to film the inane Garfield movie, but then decides to "use the pain" of his past to do the serious drama after all. Liz makes a last-ditch attempt to romance Floyd's attractive friend, but that soon fails as well and she grudgingly agrees to marry Wesley. Jack confesses his affair with Avery to Nancy during the wedding, knowing that she cannot storm out during Mass, and he begs Liz, who is doing a reading, to stall for time, ending the episode on a cliffhanger. Commercials deleted.
