REAL HUSBANDS OF HOLLYWOOD: VOTE FOR KIDNEY (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy that parodies reality television programs via fictionalized versions of celebrities intent on becoming part of Hollywood's elite.

In this episode, Nelly’s “Falling Legend” and Kevin’s “47 ½ Hours” premiere on the same day and in the same cinema house. Bridgette sees Nelly and Elle on the red carpet together and vows to get revenge on him for betraying her. Nick prepares to hear the results of his election but is questioned over where Mariah is. Boris’s cult gets shut down by the government, but he claims he will continue his charity work on a more “personal” level. Tisha’s ankle bracelet starts to vibrate and she becomes nervous about being sent back to jail. The matter becomes academic when the ankle bracelet electrocutes both her and Duane, and Duane leaves Tisha behind to attend his film premiere. During the “47 ½” premiere, Kevin makes backhanded comments about his friends and their involvement in “Falling Legend.” His interview is interrupted by the arrival of Nick, accompanied by Spoken Reasons. Kevin and Spoken Reasons get into an argument about their respective social media followings before Kevin insults Nick, telling him to “drop dead.” Suddenly Nick collapses, and during the ruckus Bridgette blows up Nelly’s bus as an act of revenge.

The next day, Kevin is told by Trina that Nick is in the hospital, although Kevin believes that this is nothing more than an attention-grabbing measure on his part. However, Kevin becomes more interested when he learns that his ill-timed “drop-dead” comment has created a massive backlash against him on social media, and will likely negatively impact the box office gross of “47 ½ Hours.” Kevin becomes frustrated that his words and actions constantly “go viral” and starts blaming members of the film crew. Boris, Duane, and Nelly visit Nick in the hospital. They try to convince Nick that the tabloid articles claiming that he has died could be extremely profitable for him, pointing to a number of artists who had best-selling works immediately after their deaths. His doctor informs Nick that he won the election and is now mayor of Beverley Hills, but requires a kidney transplant in the next week or he will die. He asks them to get tested to see if their kidneys are compatible, but they make up excuses not to do so. Kevin arrives and makes a show of grieving over Nick in front of a number of photographers. He apologizes to him in an overblown display of false emotion, but must be rescued when Nick takes the opportunity to bite him in the ear. Boris explains Nick’s predicament to Kevin and says that they should all get tested.

Later, Trina tells Kevin, Boris, Nelly, and Duane that she has spun the story about the incident in the hospital to cast them in a positive light. She has also arranged for them to appear on the show “The Doctors” in order to have their test results announced on-air so as to increase their positive publicity. While it is extremely unlikely that any of them would be a match for Nick, Trina notes that their careers will be ruined if they do not go for testing. They appear on “The Doctors,” although each has their own selfish reasons for doing so: Boris to promote his cult, Kevin attempts to use Nick’s death as a means of getting closer to Mariah, etc. They are shocked when the host reveals that Kevin is a match for Nick, and the four of them celebrate on-camera at the news. However, once Kevin realizes what has happened, he collapses on the set. Commercials deleted.
