
VOICE, THE {SEASON ONE SEMI-FINALS} (TV)
Summary
One in this reality competition television show featuring aspiring singers auditioning for the chance to sign a record deal.
This episode covers the semi-final round of the first season. The performances from Green’s team from the previous week are reviewed, and Daly reveals that Vicci has been voted to advance by viewer votes. Green selects Nakia to advance as well; Tory, Taylor, and Curtis are eliminated. Levine’s team’s performances are also reviewed, and the vote picks Javier to advance to the next round. Levine decides to pick Casey, thus eliminating Devon and Jeff. The remaining semi-finalists each put on performances; advancements to the finals are based on a combination of viewer voting and points assigned from the coaches. After each performance the coaches make comments. Frenchie performs “Like a Prayer” as per Aguilera’s choice. Nakia sings “Whataya Want From Me” as per Green’s choice. Dia performs “Losing My Religion” with Shelton’s approval. Casey sings “I Will Always Love You” as per Levine’s choice. Levine, Aguilera, and Maroon 5 put on a performance of the song “Moves Like Jagger.”
Haislip interviews Javier about his responsibilities as a father. Beverly sings “The Thrill Is Gone” as per Aguilera’s instruction. Javier performs “Fix You” with coaching from Levine. Haislip interviews Casey backstage. Shelton performs his single “Honey Bee” accompanied by Dia and Xenia. Xenia sings “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” as per Shelton’s selection. Vicci sings “Dog Days Are Over” as per Green’s request. The coaches assign their points to their various team members and await the finals, when viewer votes will help to decide the finalists. There is a final review of the performances of the night. Commercials deleted.
