EAST LOS HIGH: DANCE BATTLE {SEASON THREE FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about the lives of Latino teenagers at a fictional high school in East Lost Angeles.
Ceci attempts to escape Pedro while Vanessa finally manages to warn Jacob, who turns back immediately. Jacob arrives and fights Pedro while Vanessa calls the police. Their fight is interrupted when Vanessa arrives with the police, and they arrest Pedro. Camila teases Gina about her relationship with Eddie; she goes on birth control in case they decide to start having sex. Jacob checks up on Ceci while she is preparing the Bomb Squad for their appearance on “Dance Battle.” He says Pedro will likely be getting prison time for breaking and entering, violating the terms of his restraining order, and attempted rape. She wants him to keep the matter quiet until after the “Dance Battle” appearance so as not to upset the team. Nicolas speaks to Jocelyn and says he cannot tell her where he is going; he asks her to give his regards to their grandparents, and also asks her to make sure Camila is safe. They bid each other a tearful farewell; Jesus sees Jocelyn come out, as he is following Nicolas.
The Bomb Squad appears on “Dance Battle,” competing against their rivals West Side Hornets. Meanwhile, Nicolas films his testimony about Sergio and Marcos’s operation, explaining some of the details of how the use R&R Records as a front for their drug trade. He is forced to give Camila’s name alongside Jesus’s, thus implicating her in the drug trade as well. Jesus visits Camila while she organizes a release party on behalf of Liliana. He says he must leave town with his family and asks her to come with him. He informs her that Nicolas testified against them, She does not believe him and he walks off. During the solo performance segment of the “Dance Battle” show, Jazmine and her counterpart from West Side get into a fight and are both disqualified. Nicolas’s lawyers discover that he has escaped and they go out in search of him. Ceci is called out personally by Adrian to perform in the solo dance segment, and with her team’s encouragement she accepts and dances off against him.
Liliana sends Camila home to change into a party dress. Ceci manages to win the solo dance round, sending both teams into the third and final round: the group dance segment. On her way back, Camila runs into Nicolas, who apologizes for their earlier encounter. She is furious at him for the deal he made, which put her in danger despite his stated intent to protect her. She leaves before he can explain himself any further. Federal agents spot Nicolas and pursue him. The Bomb Squad wins the third and final round, thus winning the “Dance Battle” competition and the cash prize. Eddie returns home and finds a note left by his mother explaining that she has returned to Mexico to stay with her sister. He realizes that her condition is worse than she led him to believe, and she is dying. Gina recommends that he go to Mexico to be with her, but he does not know how he would get back to the United States. At the release party, Camila makes several unsuccessful attempts to get in contact with Jesus and decides to go see him at his home. She says he was right about Nicolas and apologizes for not believing him. They admit that they love each other just as a SWAT team enters his house and arrests him.
Eddie prepares to leave for Mexico as Camila, Marcos, Memo, and Sergio are all interrogated by federal agents. They claim to Camila that Jesus was the one who ordered Rogelio’s death, and they show her a photograph of a deceased Nicolas, claiming that Jesus organized this as well. Ceci and Jacob take the opportunity for a romantic interlude. Gina stops Eddie, suggesting that they get married so that Eddie can return to the United States. He says that it is not realistic to do so at the moment, but that one day he will return somehow and then they can be married. They share an emotional farewell as Eddie gets on a bus for Mexico. Maya unexpectedly returns from Santa Fe and walks in on Jacob and Ceci. Camila discovers that Liliana was actually a federal agent all along, and that she hired Camila as part of their extensive sting operation on Sergio and Marcos’s drug operation.
