WHO'S THE BOSS?: IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER {PART 1 OF 2} {SEASON TWO PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies about advertising executive Angela Bower and her live-in housekeeper -- former pro-baseball player Tony Micelli -- and their respective families. Tony is coming back from vacation with Samantha, and Angela wants the house to be clean and presentable for his return. Mona believes Angela is trying to prove to Tony that she can take care of herself. Tony and Samantha return from their trip, mostly spent at Disneyworld. Angela gets a call from Jonathan’s camp counselor about the upcoming parent’s weekend; Jonathan is homesick and may come home with her. She decides to bring Tony, Samantha, and Mona with her in order to cheer him up. On the drive up there Tony reminisces about his own experiences in camp as a teenager, and he and Angela realize that they went to the same camp at around the same time. Angela mentions that her first “grown-up kiss” occurred at camp and the others urge her to tell the story. She recounts slipping out in the middle of the night to meet her crush in a clearing in the woods, and Tony has a similar recollection of making out with a girl from Angela’s camp. Samantha wonders aloud if they actually kissed each other, as their stories sound similar. They deny this, but Angela begins to wonder if it may be true, as the boy she kissed was named “Anthony.” Meanwhile, Jonathan discusses his homesickness with the camp psychologist, Bob Wormser. The other children constantly make fun of him over it, and over his unwillingness to accompany them in their activities. Angela and company arrive at the camp and Jonathan is quite excited to see them and eager to return home. Mona is disappointed when she hears about Jonathan not participating in camp activities and takes him and Samantha out for horseback riding. Angela wants to be sure that it was someone other than Tony she kissed as a teen, and Tony reveals that he carved the name of the girl he kissed onto a nearby rock. They go together to the clearing to settle the matter once and for all. They find it just as a storm is rolling in, and find the name Tony carved into the rock is “Ingrid.” Surprisingly, Angela seems somewhat disappointed. Rain starts coming down as Mona tells ghost stories to the campers; the road is flooded and no one can get in or out of the camp. Tony and Angela manage to get to a motel for the night, but can only get a single room. Angela is uneasy about staying in the same room as Tony, revealing that she is actually “Ingrid,” explaining that she gave a fake name to “Anthony” out of fear that he might tell everyone else about it. They both recollect the kiss in full now, and ponder the implications it may hold. Includes commercials.
