FAMILY TIES: HERE WE GO AGAIN (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the Keaton family -- Elyse and Steven, two aging ex-hippies, and their conservative, materialistic children. Steven takes the kids out camping despite Alex and Mallory's lack of enthusiasm. Elyse must stay behind to catch up on her work. Skippy comes to visit and insinuates himself into the house. Elyse gets a call from her doctor and receives some surprising news: she is pregnant. She is excited at the prospect of having another child but cannot figure out how to tell Steven when he returns. Steven and the kids come home from their camping trip early due to various difficulties, and all of them are soaking wet and in bad moods. Elyse tells Steven she is pregnant and he is initially shocked, since the doctors said that Jennifer would likely be their last child. When the kids come in to apologize for their behavior, Elyse and Steven tell them the news. They are also shocked and highly resistant to the idea of having another sibling. The kids meet in private to discuss the matter. All of them feel threatened by another baby and are fearful of the responsibility it will entail. They discuss the pros and cons of what a baby in the house will mean. Late that night, both Steven and Elyse meet in the kitchen, unable to sleep. They talk about all the activities and lifestyle changes that the new baby will bring, just as the births of the other three children did. They wish the kids were more enthusiastic about the baby. Alex, Mallory, and Jennifer enter, also unable to sleep. They reveal that they have decided that a new sibling won't be such a bad thing, and present Steven and Elyse with some toys for the upcoming baby. The episode ends as everyone returns to bed. Commercials deleted.
