CHEERS: SISTERLY LOVE (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a group of regulars at a Boston bar. In this episode, Rebecca pitches an idea for a designated driver service, which she soon comes to regret. Lilith arrives looking for Frasier and is unamused by his jokes about her mother, although Norm and Cliff seem entertained. Sam's worries about his precious Corvette are forgotten when an attractive woman enters the bar looking for Rebecca, and she reveals that she is her sister, Susan. Woody recognizes her as an actress from some cheesy horror movies, and she explains that she is in town shooting a commercial. When Susan says that she has had a falling out with Rebecca, Sam schemes to reunite them, hoping their gratitude will manifest itself romantically. Carla is unimpressed with the plan, but Cliff supports the idea and offers some of his extensive knowledge of women. When Rebecca arrives, she is less than pleased to see Susan, but Sam talks them into having lunch with him at Melville's. The sisters soon descend into argument and Sam learns that Susan had a habit of stealing Rebecca's boyfriends in their youth, and he "warns" Susan not to try it with him, suggesting that Rebecca has feelings for him.
Frasier, who has escaped Lilith, voices his enjoyment of Susan's films and asks for an autograph with which to scare his mother-in-law. Sam brags to the guys about his plan to use the sisters' jealousy to his advantage, and Susan reenacts some of her classic death scenes for the bar. She agrees to meet Sam later for a date, and he quickly reports to Rebecca that she asked him out, despite believing he was dating her sister. Rebecca is thoroughly annoyed, and Sam suggests getting her "revenge" by dating him herself. Sam postpones his date with Susan, but she arrives at closing time anyway, apparently unable to resist him, and just as things are getting friendly, Rebecca enters and catches them together. In a fit of rage, she seizes a gun and shoots Susan dead, much to Sam's horror. When they attempt to dispose of the "body," however, Sam discovers the entire gang waiting outside in the bar and realizes that it was a joke planned by Susan and Rebecca to get back at him for his plan. Sam is "offended" at their trickery, but everyone else, even Lilith, shares a good laugh at his expense, and the sisters inform him that his buffoonery reunited them after all. Commercials deleted.
