ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET, THE: RICK AND THE MAID OF HONOR {ELEVENTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this long-running domestic comedy series about the real-life Nelson family: Ozzie Nelson and his wife Harriet Hilliard, a former band leader and band singer respectively, and their two sons, David and Ricky. In this episode, Rick agrees to be best man at the wedding of his fraternity buddy Jimmy. Harriet is surprised to hear that Rick’s old girlfriend, Roberta Jackson, is going to be maid of honor. Rick tells Ozzie that he fears she’s getting serious about him. After rehearsing, the group goes to the malt shop, where Roberta tells Rick about the “beauty” of marriage. When Rick drives Roberta home, she begins to openly flirt with him. That night, Jimmy asks if he can stay at the Nelsons until the wedding, due to continual hazing at the fraternity. When Rick talks about his own dating history, Jimmy wonders if he’s making the right decision. Soon, Rick realizes that Jimmy has left the house and gone back to the malt shop. Rick and Roberta find Jimmy and offer some advice, though he was actually making a secret rendezvous with fiancée Linda. The wedding and reception go off without a hitch, though Roberta uses the opportunity to tell Rick about her new boyfriend. Afterward, Rick meets the school’s attractive assistant librarian, who mentions that she caught Linda’s bouquet. Commercials deleted.
