PASSWORD PLUS {TONY RANDALL, MARCIA WALLACE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of word-association game shows, enhanced from the original "Password" series, in which two pairs of players earn points when one member -- who knows the "password" -- induces the other to utter it by providing one-word clues. Host Allen Ludden welcomes this edition's guest stars, actors Marcia Wallace and Tony Randall, who are then joined by contestants Eva Jones and Leland Yung. Yung has already earned a total of $10,700 on the previous days' shows. Ludden describes the "Password Puzzle," explaining that all of the words in each round pertain to one specific term, which the panelists must guess to win. In the first round, the words are "police," "lock," "criminal" and "wrist," and Randall and Yung successfully solve the puzzle: "handcuffs." In the second round, the words are "family" and "November," and Wallace quickly figures out "Thanksgiving." Next, the words are "cross," "society," "flame" and "hood," and Yung gets the right answer: "Ku Klux Klan."
Yung advances to the next round, Alphabetics, in which he must guesses a quick series of ten alphabetical passwords for a prize of $5,000, and he becomes the series' first big winner and brings his total to $16,000 after successfully guessing "lid," "mark," "normal," "orphan," "parrot," "quantity," "rabbi," "safe," "trail" and "us" in the time allotted. For the next round, Yung switches to Wallace's team and Randall is joined by new contestant Lisa Carter, and everyone is astonished when Yung correctly solves the puzzle, "Miss America contest," after one word, "parks." In the final round, the words are "green," "cookies" and "brownies," and Wallace gets the right answer with "Girl Scouts." Commercials deleted.
