FRASIER: FRASIER'S CURSE (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about Frasier Crane, a divorced psychiatrist who lives in Seattle and hosts a phone-in radio show.

In this episode, a panicked Frasier tells Niles that, once again, his school reunion has arrived just as he faces a personal setback, namely his firing from KACL. Niles dismisses his fears as mere "folderol," sure that he is merely nervous about his promising job interview at another radio station, KJMC. Frasier then proceeds to make a complete mess of the interview, accidentally insulting the station president and ruining some of his belongings. Niles, Martin and Daphne are concerned when Frasier declares that he is not attending the reunion because of the "curse," though Roz, Frasier's date for the event, is left out of the loop. He reads the school's recent newsletter, pointing out that his classmates are all impressive high-achievers; when he ventures out on a shopping trip in a disheveled state, he runs into former school friend Percy Williams, who mistakes him for a homeless person.

Niles and Martin return home from a police auction to find that Frasier has changed his mind, deciding that he must attend the reunion after all to disprove the rumors that Percy will presumably spread. Niles wisely observes that his real "curse" is his sense of inferiority and suggests that he must let go of his desperation to impress unimportant people from his past. Realizing that he must skip the event to achieve "personal growth," he changes his mind back again, further frustrating Roz. Martin then announces that Frasier's agent has just called with a job offer for his own television show from KPOV. Overjoyed and eager to boast, Frasier heads off to the reunion, but Martin admits that he invented the position just to give Frasier a morale boost for the evening. Daphne then reveals that, according to the newsletter, the new KPOV station manager will also be at the event. Frasier, caught in his lie, is forced to sit at the "loser table" with a barbershop quartet. Commercials deleted.
