WILL & GRACE: WHOSE MOM IS IT, ANYWAY? (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the friendship between Will Truman, a gay lawyer, and Grace Adler, a straight interior decorator.
In this episode, Grace is exasperated when her flamboyant mother Bobbie announces that she's coming to town with Andy, a childhood summer camp friend of Grace's, apparently bent on "another one of her famous fix-ups." Elsewhere, Jack runs into an old fling, Roger; Karen reminds him that he is supposed to be studying for his interview with Immigration at which he and Rosario will have to prove that their marriage is legitimate. At a restaurant, Grace prepares to tell her mother to stop setting her up once and for all, though Will points out that it is always highly entertaining for him. Bobbie arrives with Andy and Grace launches into her prepared speech, but Bobbie reveals that she actually intended Andy for Will. Will is embarrassed, but Grace begs him to go along with it to prove her point that Bobbie is a terrible matchmaker, and he relents. Later, Bobbie and Grace eagerly await Will's return from his date. Grace is frustrated when he announces that he and Andy hit it off successfully.
Karen grows anxious as Jack and Rosario await their interviews and shocks Jack by admitting that, despite their constant arguments, she considers Rosario her friend. Jack assures her that all will go well, but then is alarmed to see that the INS interviewer is none other than Roger. Will and Andy have a second date at Will's apartment, but Grace continually interrupts them, annoyed that Will has defied "the master plan" by enjoying the fix-up. Roger informs Rosario that he is fully aware that her "husband" is gay and the marriage is a sham, but Jack bursts into the room and declares his love for Rosario with a dramatic kiss. Seeing just how far they are willing to go to keep Rosario in America, Roger gives them a pass. Andy gets fed up with Grace's behavior and leaves; when an irritated Will confronts her and points out that Bobbie has not actually tried to fix her up at all, she realizes that she is upset by that fact. Bobbie arrives and Grace asks if she has given up on her. Bobbie protests that she merely listened to Grace's repeated requests to leave her romantic life alone. The two finally compromise and Will and Grace make up. However, Bobbie cannot resist asking if there is any hope for the two of them as a couple. Commercials deleted.
