GEORGE LOPEZ: LONG TIME NO SEE {SECOND SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The second season finale in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, George broods over the $20,000 check sent to him by his long-absent father Manny to help with the family's financial woes, feeling that he cannot accept money from the man who abandoned him. He resolves to travel to Phoenix to confront Manny in person, and despite his objections, the rest of the family ends up tagging along on the road trip. On the way there, Benny recalls her early life with baby George and the unreliable Manny, and Max consults a Magic 8 Ball to determine if George should forgive his wayward father or not. George is further annoyed when Benny reveals that she has been concealing a letter written to George from Manny shortly before his departure years ago, explaining that George would be "better off" without him.
George finally makes it to Phoenix and confronts Manny alone, stating that he cannot take the money. Manny dismisses his concerns, saying that the past is irrelevant, but George angrily berates him for deserting his family and ends up punching him when Manny insults Benny. Back at home, the family is surprised by a visit from Angie's father Vic, who gives them the $17,000 loan and begrudgingly praises his son-in-law, of whom he has never been fond, for putting his family's needs before his pride. Later, Benny is thrilled when George describes his confrontation with Manny, glad that someone has finally put her no-good ex in his place. Includes commercials and promos.
