CUPID AND CATE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramatic specials presented by Hallmark. In this drama, a vintage-clothing-store owner comes to understand the true nature of love after meeting a special man. Cate DeAngelo is having trouble with her family. She blames her father for her late mother's alcoholism; her three sisters for remaining close to him; and her fiance, Philip, for not understanding her anger. To top it all off, her business, a vintage-clothing store, is failing. Cate's closest sister, Cynthia, helps her by redecorating the store and by introducing Cate to an affable lawyer named Harry. Harry and Cate fall in love. She breaks up with Philip and announces her engagement to Harry. Cate's oldest sister, a doctor, warns Cate that Harry's recent physical examination indicates that he has leukemia, but Cate marries Harry anyway. Things begin to look up when Cate announces that she is pregnant and Harry goes into remission, but after the birth of their son, Patrick, Harry's health begins to decline again, and he expresses a desire to see Cate and her father reconcile.
