ALIAS: RESURRECTION {THIRD SEASON FINALE} (TV)

Summary

The third season finale in this dramatic action series about CIA double agent Sydney Bristow and her adventures with her colleagues and her enemies. In this episode, Lauren disguises herself as Sydney and enters the office, where she begins downloading the Rambaldi equation. When she is caught by Marshall, she shoots him and flees, setting off several explosions around the office. Sark, waiting nearby, is captured, and Sydney is interrogated by a counterintelligence agent who believes her to be the guilty party. Vaughn and Jack secretly discuss their "disposal project" regarding Lauren, and Vaughn then questions Sark, who recently tortured him, noting their ironic role-reversal. Sark, however, withstands Vaughn's beating and mocks him about Lauren's many infidelities. Sydney swears that both she and Nadia are innocent, but is reassigned to desk duty for the time being. Vaughn finally wrests Lauren's whereabouts from Sark and Sydney talks to a distressed Weiss, who updates her about the aftermath of Lauren's attack. Sydney then calls Vaughn and, realizing that he lied about Sark's information, begs him not to kill Lauren on his own. Vaughn discovers that the Rambaldi equation indicates a location in Palermo, and he quickly captures Lauren.

Sydney finds that Jack is assisting in the pursuit of Lauren and accuses him of working out his own issues with Irina through Vaughn, but Jack stresses that Vaughn needs to kill Lauren himself to find "closure." Once restrained, Lauren tries to plead with Vaughn, but he ignores her and furiously accuses her of exploiting his grief over Sydney. Before he can torture her, however, he is stabbed in the back by an unseen figure. Sloane breaks into the safehouse and asks Nadia for the location of the Rambaldi artifact, though she declares that she does not share his beliefs and will not help him. Vaughn is rushed to the hospital and Sydney hurries to his side, informing Jack that she now intends to kill Lauren herself. Lauren is placed in the cell next to Sark's and acknowledges that he betrayed her, but she seems to forgive him and he gives her the passcode for the Rambaldi information – but Lauren is then revealed to be Sydney in disguise. She travels to Palermo and spies on the construction site where the artifact is apparently located, while back in America Vaughn awakens in the hospital and frantically tells Weiss that Sydney is headed into a trap, revealing that he was stabbed not by Lauren but by Katya.

Sydney encounters her aunt at the site and Katya pretends to be on her side, but she accidentally reveals her loyalty to the Covenant and Sydney shoots her with a dart. Nadia escapes the safehouse and finds Sloane, who tells her that the Covenant has already beaten them to the artifact, but she reveals that she altered the equation while under the serum's influence and that it is not in Palermo at all. Sydney encounters Lauren and the two have a fierce fight, with Lauren declaring that Sydney still does not know the full truth about her two-year disappearance. She tells Sydney that she will find answers in a bank vault in Wittenberg, and when Vaughn arrives and shoots her, she gives Sydney the vault's number before dying. Vaughn and Sydney happily reunite, but Sydney later heads to Wittenberg and is upset to find a number of files pertaining to her "mission," all authorized by her father. Jack then arrives, stating that she was never meant to have known the truth. Includes commercials and promos.
