BURN NOTICE: IDENTITY (TV)
Summary
One in this series about a covert operative trying to discover why he's been "burned" by his top-secret intelligence agency -- branding him unemployable and under constant surveillance.
In this episode, Michael returns to Madeline's neighborhood to figure out how recent photos of him were surreptitiously taken there. Later, he visits with Madeline, who tells him that two government agents asked about their mother/son bond. Finding a bug in her living room, Michael traces the source to a nearby residence and sees two men fleeing the scene.
Later, Madeline tells Michael that she's upset about her neighbor Laura having been scammed and beaten up by three con artists. Michael subsequently visits Laura, who describes how the culprits stole her life savings and broke her arm. Agreeing to help Laura retrieve her cash, Michael seeks out Sam and Fiona for assistance, even though they can't stop squabbling.
A tip leads Michael to a yacht where con artist Quentin King lives with his apprentices, Greg and Bonnie. Realizing that the trio had terrorized Laura and many others, Michael uses an alias to offer Quentin a partnership deal for bigger and better scams. Though Greg and Bonnie appear interested, Quentin puts him off. Meanwhile, Fi and Sam bug Quentin's boat and wire his car.
Sam leaves evidence on the yacht to make Quentin think that Greg and Bonnie are plotting against him. Elsewhere, Michael and Fi visit Madeline, at which point she tells them more details about the government agents who questioned her. Later, Quentin makes plans to kill Greg and Bonnie, at least until Michael promises to get a hit man for the job.
The next day, Fi and Sam pretend to be FBI agents to scare Greg and Bonnie into fleeing the area; Greg and Bonnie then steal Quentin's yacht and head for the Caribbean. Meanwhile, Michael tricks Quentin into disclosing his secret bank account numbers so that the money can be wired to a "safe" location. Michael subsequently transfers the funds back to Laura and the other seniors that Quentin robbed. Michael then frames Quentin for unrelated crimes, getting him arrested.
Finally, Madeline gives Michael the number that her visitors told her to call when Michael next showed up. When Michael dials it, the voice on the other end insists on anonymity, but tells Michael that he'll "be in touch." Commercials deleted.
