NATURALMENTE CON EL DOCTOR ARMOZA {NATURALLY WITH DOCTOR ARMOZA} {KOSOFSKY ETHNIC RADIO COLLECTION -- SPANISH} (RADIO)

Summary

One in a series of daily Spanish-language magazine programs, which is broadcast from New York City and is designed as a free-form call-in program dealing with religion, spirituality, and health. Co-host Socorro Vargas welcomes the listeners to her "table" and explains that the topic under discussion in this edition will be the festival of Epiphany -- in Spanish, "el dia de los reyes magos," or Three Kings' Day. She goes on to introduce Dr. Cesar Armoza, who joins the listeners via telephone, as does Father Fernando Real of the Santa Maria Church in the Bronx. Listeners are encouraged to call in and talk about the celebration of this holiday in their countries of origin and about the significance it had for them in their youth. Meanwhile, Dr. Armoza and Father Real discuss the religious significance of this holiday in Spain and particularly for the Catholic faith. Several calls are taken from people describing their experiences of the celebration of this holiday. Their countries of origin include Argentina, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. The callers also explain the differences between how they celebrated Epiphany in their countries of origin and how they celebrate it in the United States.

(This Program is in Spanish.)

The acquisition and cataloging of this program were made possible by Marvin and Jacqueline Kosofsky.
